14 year old Corban has an exciting tennis future ahead of him. In 2016 Corban won the Under 12's singles, doubles and mixed doubles titles at the national championships. He has been named to be one of 8 targeted under 14 athletes by New Zealand Tennis. He is hoping to tour Europe in 2017 with his supportive family.
Corbans goals include continuing in the targeted athlete group and touring Europe in the short term. Corban's long term goal is to play tennis professionally. Avenues Physio-Fitness is excited to support Corban with one of our youth athlete sponsorships in 2017. Corban will be supported with his physiotherapy treatments as required and will be attending our youth Pilates and fitness based classes to compliment his training.
Amy has recently achieved one of her major goals, being named in the Blacksticks Women's squad for 2017. We couldn't be prouder of you Amy, your hard work and dedication has finally paid off. Amy is an outstanding 21 year old athlete who has represented NZ at hockey, beach volleyball and athletics. She recently came 3rd in Senior Womens 400m and 2nd in both 4x100m and 4x 400m relays at the NZ National Athletics event. In 2016, she was named as Junior Sportswoman of the year at the Bay of Plenty Sports Awards.
Avenues Physio-Fitness is proud to sponsor Amy for the 4th year. We are hoping that with our injury management, Pilates and strengthening programs, Amy can continue to achieve all of her future goals.
15 year old Alex is an amazing dancer and has many recent competition wins to prove this. Alex competes in dancing competitions in New Zealand and Australia. Alex is a Lucy Ellis Allstar, which is an elite training group based in Auckland. Her main goal is to become a full-time professional dancer in the USA. She currently gives back her time volunteering at her dance school, Suzanne Hanger Dance, teaching younger dancers and in the long-term would like to continue teaching as part of her career. Alex is extremely passionate about her dance and with a busy year of competitions ahead of her. Alex is currently preparing to compete at the PACANZ Performing Arts competition later this year, where she will be performing solo and group dances. Avenues Physio-Fitness is excited to assist Alex with her physical conditioning and injury management. Alex will continue to attend our specialised youth Pilates classes which she has been a member of for a number of years.
Avenues Physio-Fitness is proud to support 17 year old, Shaun Campbell. Shaun shows great talent and dedication for golf, which is highlighted in his many recent successes. Shaun hopes to represent New Zealand in golf and travel around the word with the sport, hopefully turning professional one day. Shaun's short term goals include being selected for the New Zealand team to play in the Australian Amateur Championships and receive a scholarship from a American College. Any elite golfer needs a program that includes, physiotherapy, stretching classes and core strengthening and Avenues Physio-Fitness will help Shaun in his sporting endeavors and help ensure that he can continue to perform in peak physical condition.
Anahera is a highly organised and motivated 11 year old who loves sport. Anahera plays a multitude of sports. In 2016 Anahera is primarily committed to her representative basketball, but will continue to play Athletics, Volleyball, Netball, Surfing, Squash and Badminton. Furthermore, she is trying out cricket and indoor bowls. Her sporting success at a young age is extraordinary. In 2015, Anahera achieved many of her sporting goals by being selected in the Tauranga City Basketball Association Girls Under 13 Rep Basketball Team who were placed second in the Easter Pacific Rim Tournament. In the Waikato/Bay of Plenty Children’s Athletics Championships she placed 1st in Grade 10 Shotput and 1st in Grade 12 Mixed Medley Relay. Anahera was awarded the “Outstanding Achievement in Sport” Tamariki Award at the Ngai Te Rangi Recognition Awards in 2015. In 2016 Anahera wants to achieve first at the inter-school Squash and Badminton Championships.
Anahera’s long term goals include to represent NZ as a Tall Fern and go to the Olympics.
Avenues Physio-Fitness is proud to support Anahera with her sporting goals by giving her a “Developing Athlete Sponsorship Package” for the 2016 year. Anahera will be supported with physiotherapy services, muscle balance testing, youth pilates and injury prevention services.
