It’s time to talk about workplace health as much as workplace safety
Making small changes to how we work, where we work and what we do outside of work can be the difference between a happy and healthy workplace or a dysfunctional and stressed one.
Workplace accidents, injuries and staff absenteeism cost both the employer and employee in many ways so prevention and early intervention is the key.
The introduction of the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 (HSWA) which came into effect on 4 April 2016, increases the duty of care on employers to proactively manage their work place to ensure risk of injury and harm to their staff is eliminated or minimised.
Avenues Physio-Fitness has experienced physiotherapists with expertise in injury prevention and truly understand workplace pressures on the musculoskeletal system. We would relish the opportunity to work with you and your team to help improve workplace fitness and ergonomics to ensure optimum productivity.
Avenues Physio-Fitness has a team of physiotherapists with experience and post-graduate studies in vocational rehabilitation. We are designed to help you, your employer and any third-party insurer or ACC achieve a personalised plan to enable a successful return to work. We work with all treating health professionals and appropriate rehabilitation networks to identify appropriate duties, working hours and any other modifications for return to work.
Our team takes time to explore work tasks, work environments and potential barriers. We get to know the employee, employer and the business through a workplace assessment and initial needs assessment. Our team will provide as required: manual handling advice and other workplace education, modification of necessary equipment, arrange work trials, functional fitness to work assessments and case management support. And, who better to do this than a team of physiotherapists who not only understand vocational rehabilitation but also have expertise in injury prevention and workplace pressures on the musculoskeletal system. You or your employee will be in good hands.
Assessment and optimisation of work station set up and dynamics. Individual ergonomic workstation assessments are important in prevention of pain and workplace discomfort. These have been proven to reduce the incidence of OOS (Occupational Overuse Syndrome) or RSI (Repetitive Strain Injury) in the workplace.
Analysis of task performance, injury prevention strategies, health & sustainability designed specifically for your staff and their work related tasks.
Fitness classes specific to your workplace needs. E.g. Yoga, Pilates, Strength & Conditioning. These can be organised at our clinic studio at 575 Cameron Road, Tauranga or at a location that is convenient for your staff.
Customised seminars for small or large groups educating on your specific workplace wellness requirements. Presented by our passionate and experienced physiotherapists, this is a great way to get the workplace wellness message to all.
